The Association of
Telemedicine Service
Providers (ATSP) was founded in 1996 to support and grow the
telemedicine industry and ensure that the tools needed to provide remote
care are in place. This year, the name of the organization was changed to Association of
Telehealth Service
Providers to reflect the integration of telemedicine into the larger "e-health"
world.
ATSP is a business-oriented trade organization structured
to help health care professionals provide—and receive payment for—telehealth
services.
The ATSP has both institutional members and
organizational members:

hospitals and clinics that provide telemedicine/telehealth services

Telemedicine programs

Government entities
-
Manufacturers and suppliers
of telehealth products and services

Associations

Professionals in medicine,
law, and consulting
The organization is funded through member dues and its annual
international conference.
The ATSP President is Douglas A.
Perednia, M.D. The ATSP Executive Director is Will
Engle.
The ATSP is governed by a board of directors that meets once per year.
