The Online Telemedicine Research
Institute, of India, is striving to improve equity of access to health
care services while reducing costs by utilizing telemedicine technologies
in India and South Asia.

for re-engineering healthcare effectively during the recent Gujarat
earthquake, which measured 8.1 on the Richter scale. Some 40,000 people
died, including many health care workers. Many hospitals and other medical
facilities were destroyed. Operating out of tents, the Online Telemedicine

implemented, including Health Hero’s Health Buddy.
