Oregon telehealth professionals
can discuss local telehealth news, advocacy
issues and upcoming telemedicine events, as well as share lessons learned
and brainstorm ways to further the business of telemedicine. OTA Link
is a great way for people in Oregon who are interested in telehealth to
connect with one another.
Membership
The OTA is free and open to anyone interested in Oregon telehealth.
The ORTCC Telehealth Subcommittee
The OTA-Link is also the main
listserv of the Oregon Telecommunications Coordinating Council (ORTCC)
Telehealth Subcommittee.
The
ORTCC was created by the 2000 Oregon Legislature through the passage of
Senate Bill 765, now codified as Chapter 699, 2001 Oregon Laws.
The Council's tasks are stated in the legislative direction to the
Council: "study alternative approaches to providing coordinated
statewide, regional and local telecommunication services, including
providing services to unserved or underserved areas of the state" and
to "study the manner in which telecommunication investments can be
coordinated to facilitate partnerships between the public sector and the
private sector and between state and local governments."
Please note: the OTA is now the Telehealth Alliance of Oregon. All information, including their listserv can be found at www.ortelehealth.org/.
